NOVO’s client, Brain Corp, received the 2016 ISSA Innovation of the Year award for EMMA (Enabling Mobile Machine Automation), its AI navigation system. EMMA powers a hybrid self-driving and manually driven floor-cleaning vehicle. In self-driving mode, the vehicle safely avoids obstacles without direct operator control. The award was announced at the ISSA/Interclean trade show in October.
The software inside EMMA performs floor care while ensuring safety, precision, and quality. NOVO’s contributions on the system included integrating the navigation technology, new control panel, and new industrial design into an existing industrial floor scrubber.
